About Us
Arts Bundanoon exists to present and encourage music and the visual arts in Bundanoon and the broader community. Since its inception in 2001 Arts Bundanoon has presented music recitals and concerts of a very high standard to the local communities. Ensembles and artists presented to date include Gerard Willems, the Sydney Balalaika Orchestra, Guitar Trek, Duo Corda, the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra Ensemble, Trio Empyrean, the Song Company, Jane Rutter and many more. Arts Bundanoon presents both a Saturday morning ‘Piano at Ten' recital series showcasing talented young musicians as well as experienced artists, and an afternoon/evening concert series which brings professional solo musicians, ensembles and orchestras to our venue. The ‘home' of Arts Bundanoon is the art deco Bundanoon Soldiers Memorial Hall with its fine acoustics and Kawai grand piano. 2010 ProgramPiano at TenThe 2010 Piano at Ten commenced on 02 January when the Davis Family Ensemble and friends entertained a large and appreciatve audience. The string quartet pieces led by Dal Oldham were particularly well received. On the morning of 06 February Piano at Ten will showcase flautist Catherine Arthurson, and on 06 March guitarists Kjell Goyer and Mark Williamson are sure to delight. Piano at Ten is a one hour recital. The cost is $5.00, children free. Tickets at the door. Concert Series
The 2010 Concert series will open with the fabulous acepalla choir Jonah and the Wailers on the afternoon of 27 March. Early ticket sales have been brisk, so you might need to book now for this event. On the afternoon of 26 June the delightful Ilythian Ensemble will be performing their Boite de la Musique chamber program. Pianist Andrew Rumsey and friends are collaborating to present an evening of ENCORE style music on the evening of 31 July to raise funds to assist world champion swimmer Daniel Rumsey to the Down's Syndrome World Games. The champagne and black tie event for 2010 is on the evening of 18 September when the Fellows of the Sydney Symphony Orchestra will present a mixed program of orchestral and chamber music. The 2010 concert season will conclude on the afternoon of 20 November when exciting piano, guitar and voice duo The Wizard and Oz will present an eclectic program of classical, jazz, pops and r&b.
