Glow Worm Glen Track Bushcare Group PDF Print E-mail
In 1996 the Wingecarribee Shire Council conducted an assessment of the bushland of the Garland Road Reserve, which abuts the Glow Worm Glen Track.   The Bushcare Group was set up in 1998, and is responsible to both the Shire and Bundanoon Community Association (BCA) for the management, mainly of weeds, but also of the vegetation and general care of the Reserve. To give focus to this aim a study was done and a Management Plan drawn up, reviewed by the members and adopted.

To ensure that we were on the right track we sought funding for a study by a professional Ecologist. His reports essentially confirmed ours and lend weight to our views in any negotiations we might have with Council or Fire authorities etc. They also provided us with valuable additional information.

The study reinforced the view that the wetland area was a vital link in the protection of the National Park from invasion of undesirable plants and wastes from the adjacent residential area. For this reason visitation of this section of the area under management is discouraged.

All reports are reproduced on this website, either as principal items or as appendices to our Management Plan.
